Treatments

From fillings to 3D diagnostics: all treatments at our practice in the Margaretenhof at a glance.

Fillings & Inlays

“At our practice, we have decided to provide high-quality, long-lasting restorations. With large defects, this cannot be achieved with fillings made directly in the mouth.”

We want to protect our patients from losing further tooth structure: conventional fillings are less durable and start to leak over time – so they have to be replaced more often.

That is why we recommend the ideal solution: inlays!

Your benefits

  • Aesthetics
  • Long-term cost savings
  • Maximum durability
  • Gentle treatment
  • Preserves your natural tooth structure
  • Preserves your bite (occlusion)

What is an inlay?

These fillings are made of ceramic and are extremely strong and stable when you bite. Besides lasting a long time, they also look beautiful: tooth-coloured and practically invisible in the mouth.

Ceramic inlays are bonded in place, which seals them completely and reliably protects the tooth against new decay. Composite inlays are a more affordable alternative.

Inlays are made by a technician in a dental laboratory with the utmost accuracy and precision, so that you receive the best possible quality. In just two appointments, you receive a restoration that – with regular oral hygiene – protects your tooth for many years.

Because each inlay is shaped to match your natural tooth, it feels comfortable when you chew – and its high stability makes it extremely resistant to fracture.

Veneers, Crowns & Bridges

Veneers

Veneers are thin ceramic shells that are gently bonded to the front teeth, mainly to correct their colour, shape and position.

Veneers are made of ceramic, look natural and last for many years!

  • Your natural tooth structure is preserved
  • A beautiful tooth shape
  • Better tooth alignment

Crowns

For larger defects, when the remaining tooth walls are no longer stable enough for an inlay, a crown is fixed over the prepared tooth like a protective cap. Our dental technician makes it by hand, individually for you, from the highest-quality materials.

The crown looks just like your healthy tooth and is a beautiful, long-lasting restoration.

  • Your own tooth is preserved
  • It is protected
  • It looks as good as new

Bridges

If a tooth has been lost or several teeth are missing, a bridge can close the gap – a classic way of restoring your row of teeth.

A bridge looks beautiful and is known for its longevity.

  • The bridge is firmly fixed in your mouth
  • It feels no different from your own teeth
  • You can smile again – without gaps
  • The teeth next to the gap are restored at the same time

Dental Implants

“Implants are an ideal basis for fixed restorations that close gaps between teeth – a modern solution that, above all, spares your natural tooth structure. They replace the tooth root and are fitted with a crown.”

An implant is a small screw made of 99.9% pure titanium, which the body tolerates extremely well. It is placed in the bone, where it firmly anchors your new tooth. Missing teeth are replaced and your rows of teeth are complete again – so you can eat anything with confidence and enjoyment, and feel at ease when you speak and laugh.

The implants are placed in your jawbone in a short procedure, right here at our practice. It is quick, takes place in pleasant surroundings and is carried out personally by DDr. Daniela Zitny-Haberl MDSc, whose training in implantology and many years of experience give you a high degree of reassurance.

Straight after the implant is placed, you can return to your normal routine.

For the front teeth in particular, we use immediate implants which, as the name suggests, can bear load straight away – so you are never without teeth. The implants we otherwise use have a healing phase, which gives you even greater security in terms of stability and durability.

Your benefits

  • A comfortable, secure feel
  • Aesthetics
  • Spares your remaining teeth
  • Natural chewing
  • Greater self-confidence

Oral Surgery

“Thanks to our many years of surgical experience, we offer the best possible care, even in complex cases.”

Wisdom teeth and surgical tooth extraction

In a personal consultation, we explain the procedure to you in detail.

Cosmetic Orthodontics

“Beautiful, straight teeth contribute to vitality, well-being and joie de vivre. And smiling feels twice as good.”

We correct minor misalignments of the front teeth for beautiful, straight teeth. To do this, we use thin, clear plastic aligners that gently move the teeth into the desired position. Depending on the starting point, the result you want can be achieved in as little as 4–6 months.

The aligners can hardly be felt in the mouth and are practically invisible to others, so you can wear them comfortably during the day. You only take them out to eat and to clean them. After about 10 days, you move on to the next aligner. In this way, we move your teeth very gently into a beautiful position.

Your benefits

  • A beautiful smile
  • A confident appearance
  • Perfectly aligned teeth
  • Quick results
  • Easy to use

Splints

“Different types of splints can help to restore or maintain dental health.”

Night guards for grinding

Grinding and clenching your teeth causes problems in the jaw joint as well as wear of your natural tooth substance.

A bruxism splint brings the jaw joint into an optimal position and prevents further wear of the tooth enamel.

Anti-snoring splints

Snoring affects not only your own sleep but also your partner’s. Our splints help you to a more restful night.

Sports mouthguards

To protect you from injury while doing your favourite sport.

Oral Hygiene & Periodontal Treatment

Oral hygiene – professional teeth cleaning

“Today, thorough daily dental care combined with professional oral hygiene is the international standard for healthy teeth and a confident, beautiful smile. Professional teeth cleaning is a key part of keeping your teeth for life.”

During an oral hygiene appointment, a specially trained dental hygiene assistant takes about an hour to clean your teeth professionally. Using state-of-the-art equipment, she gently removes plaque, tartar and hardened deposits. Your teeth are clean again and your mouth feels fresh – and the cleaning also makes your teeth noticeably brighter and whiter!

Cleaning between the teeth leads to healthy, firm gums, so that you can keep your own teeth – and your high-quality crowns, bridges and implants – for a long time. Personal brushing instructions help you maintain the result of your oral hygiene appointment at home for a long time.

Clean, healthy teeth – for life!

Your benefits

  • Clean teeth
  • Fresh breath
  • Healthy gums

Periodontitis

Periodontitis is a disease of the tissues that support the teeth, caused mainly by certain bacteria. So-called “gum pockets” form (gaps between tooth and gum). The bone loss that comes with them gradually loosens the tooth until it is eventually lost.

Periodontitis is usually caused by dental plaque, but other factors can trigger it too. How severe the disease is depends, among other things, on the number and depth of the gum pockets.

Treatment consists primarily of thorough cleaning to reduce the bacterial load. Further treatment may be needed afterwards.

As a common chronic disease in adults, periodontitis plays a significant role in the human ageing process.

Oral health and anti-ageing

Today, human ageing is described as “inflammaging” – ageing driven by chronic, low-grade inflammation. In ageing people, this keeps the immune system permanently activated, while their ability to neutralise the underlying triggers or resolve the inflammation declines. Chronic overeating (obesity) also acts like a constant inflammatory process. Together, these chronic changes accelerate inflammaging, shortening both healthy life expectancy and life expectancy overall, and increase the risk of chronic diseases (e.g. Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and arteriosclerosis). Treating periodontitis in good time is therefore also a way of slowing down the general ageing process.*

Digital Volume Tomography

“We are delighted to offer you X-ray images from our three-dimensional X-ray unit, the Veraview X800 by Morita – a top-of-the-range device with outstanding image quality in extremely high resolution.”

Images from this type of unit have become indispensable in dentistry – for diagnosis, but also in root canal treatment and implantology. In many cases, a conventional two-dimensional X-ray is not enough to make a reliable diagnosis.

Digital volume tomography (DVT), also known as cone beam CT (CBCT), shows the relevant area of the jaw in three dimensions, so that it can be assessed in all three planes.

Besides its many diagnostic advantages, DVT allows the available bone to be measured precisely when planning implants – to avoid injury to the mandibular nerve and other important anatomical structures, and to make the best possible use of the bone. Based on this plan, the implant can also be placed with computer guidance.

Another important use of DVT is improving root canal treatment. Inflammatory changes that are not – or not yet – visible on conventional X-rays can be detected early. DVT shows the root canals, their number and their position, making precise root canal treatment much easier.

Compared with conventional computed tomography (CT), a DVT scan involves a considerably lower radiation dose.
